Is this cute mommy?

Cole is always asking me that when he puts on headbands other girl items. Then if you put it on he tells you that it is pretty.

Yay! More snow!

Once again we were lucky enough to wake up to snow. Not much but still, it's snow and it's great!

I love how when it snows it's like everything froze along with it in the exact position it was in. I see things so differently when it has snowed. This time around I wanted to document all the little toys that got caught in the snow storm.

This tractor picture is by far one of my favorite snow pictures so far this year. Last snow storm I got his tricycle which I also love.

You can tell we just got a dusting but it is still so much fun. Especially for Cole. He loves waking up and seeing snow. He said to be this morning "Mommy, there is BIG snow outside my house"

Our poor meyer lemon and kumquat trees. They need some extra love.
I just can't resist sending in pictures to the local tv station. Good Day Sacramento is by far the best news/ morning show ever. Plus they rock the free advertising too. :-)

Mazes

Cole loves maze books. Grandma Carole bought him some maze books and he has been working very hard on them. He is patient and about 90% of the time he doesn't go out of the line! At the memorial on Sunday, Uncle Eddie gave Cole this preschool book and of course he found the maze right away.

Do we see a trend starting?

There is a grumpy little toddler waiting to emerge from my sweet little girls body.

Not quite sure who taught her this

Memorial

On Saturday we all drove to Turlock to lay my grandpa to rest. It has been 4 months since he died and we all still miss him very much. There was a short speaking by my mother and Aunt and then we went over to my cousins house for food. It was small and sweet and very nice.

I think the best part about the day was when we were watching them put my grandpa's ashes in the ground, they use this flat pounding thing to pound the dirt. Mike leaned over to me and said "Hey, if your grandpa was watching this he would have just nudged me in the side and made a comment about how you didn't need to hit the ground so hard, the poor guy was dead already. " We both laughed a bit because we knew it was true. He may be gone but his memories can even make a funeral hilarious.

Nap time violence

Poor guy was so tired that even sleeping on hardwood and being kicked in the head would not wake him up!

coleisms

Every time I ask Cole a questions he responds with "ummmm I don't know!"

A UPS truck drove by while we were at the gas station and Cole said "Hey, there's the PSA guy" You think UPS comes to the house too much?

Cole asked for Ketchup and Ranchup for dipping with his chicken nuggets.

Siena has started saying no "Nah" and Cole said "No Siena, don't touch that" she looked at him and said "Nah, nah, nah" He then said "Mommy make Siena stop saying no!"

Cole uses two adjectives to describe something in a sentence. "This is beautiful and nice mommy" "Siena is cute and pretty" (really he did say that)

Cole looked out the patio door and saw a half chewed pinecone on the deck. He yelled to me "Mommy! I see Oni's pineapple"

We were driving on the freeway and we passed a truck with a dead elk in the back of it. Cole says " Look at the big camel deer mommy, it's sleeping in his truck!"

(you know I would have a picture of it too)

Sharks

Cole came running into the office Sunday morning yelling to me "Mommy, I found a shark! It's moving out there. Come see it." So I get up to follow, wondering what a "shark" could be. Cole pointed to the dirt area on the lawn and said "See it moving?" I look closer and he had found a slug. "Please let me hold it mommy" Sure, just don't bring it inside.

Later on he had wrapped it up in a bandana and called it his "little baby flug" We are working on his "S's".

Our typical trip to the park

When ever we get the chance to go to the park we do! It's my form of exercise since I can't get much time any time else to do it. The paved circle at the park is a 1/2 mile. Usually I walk 4 laps in about 35 minutes. Great exercise, when I can get it. But when we have days like this, one 1/2 lap takes an hour.

When we first get to the park Cole acts like a dog that has just been let off the leash. He run like a maniac looking for sticks and geese to chase. Although the past few times he wants to chase the little black birds.

Next stop on the path is the "little bridge". He takes his sticks down to it to collect algae.

Mike usually man's the stroller if I have the camera and Onyx attempts to heal with it but finds it hard not to sniff everything in site.

Spring time brings eggs. Some geese are not smart enough to lay their eggs where kids and adults can't get them so you end of seeing them broken on the path or you see adults stealing them. Try as they might, they really aren't that scary.

On the island the geese stock pile the eggs and take turns guarding them.

Besides ducks and geese there are turtles living in the pond. We may or may not have put one of our turtles in there.

Next stop after the pond is the giant grate where Cole loves to drop rocks in that he collected between the park and the grate.

Cole will usually hop on the stroller for part of the lap but once the play structure is in site he is off!
Cole means business when it comes to those slides.
Siena like always, just want's to put things in her mouth.

Cole loves climbing up the ladder and that is pretty much his only way of getting to the top.

He rotates between the two biggest slides and rarely goes down the small ones.

Siena did her best to reach the bark.

After Cole got tired of the slides he came to assist her in her bark grabbing.
Continuing past the play structure we attempt to let Siena walk on her own but she chose to go back the opposite way.

Cole likes being in charge and stopping her from getting into things.
As we get closer to the car, Cole always stops in the same place he saw "big kids" playing baseball and attempts some form of it. Today was "big rock baseball". The kids does have an arm on him.

An hour later, a run in with some friends who just had a new baby, I only got 1 lap in and it is past lunch time and nap time. I think Mike and I finally got lunch at 3pm.
