Lunch time

I am surprised they will sit next to each other on this little table.  Way too much invasion of personal space for me during a meal for me.

Cole insisted on In and Out as we were leaving Fresno.  We told him we did not know where one was (we were looking for a gas station) and that we may not be able to find one (we didn't want to wait another 30-45 minutes in a line when we could be on the road).  We turned the corner and we both saw the sign, we hoped Cole wouldn't look to his left.  He did.  5 minutes after getting his hamburger he falls asleep.

A new place to eat

Siena has decided that she no longer wants to sit in the high chair and that she would much prefer to sit in Cole's favorite spot on the couch for all meals.

Siena's unique way of eating

Siena still isn't the best eater around. We all have decided that the best diet is the Siena diet.

 The rules:

 1. you can only eat when Siena eats
2. you can only eat what Siena eats
3. you can only eat the same amount of food she eats at the time

 We would probably drop 10 pounds in one week. At least. Here's an example of how she eats lunch if she hasn't falling asleep during the middle of it.

So I hope you all don't think we eat dinner so late that Cole can't stay awake. This video was at 7 o'clock at night. He had been sick all morning and didn't take an afternoon nap and he was busy playing with grandma and grandpa all afternoon. So needless to say he was very tired and very hungry.

What more could a little boy ask for when eating? My aunt works at a kitchen supply / boutique store and she got these for Cole's birthday (however he just got them this past weekend)

A little too picky

So I have discovered a way to get my son to eat a ham and cheese sandwich.  You have to place each item, bread, cheese, and ham on the plate with out them touching each other.  If you grill it into a grilled cheese & ham, then he will poke at it and throw it on the floor.  

A unique taste

A lot of you out there know about our struggle to get Cole to eat.  He has always been difficult when it came to solid foods.  I have now discovered the secret to getting him to eat...

I have to feed him the most obscure items I can find.  Yesterday he voluntarily ate smoked salmon dip and dill pickles and even asked for more!  For dinner he ate combination pizza.  What 17 month old eats like that?  I know adults that wont eat any of those things.  Yet I can not get him to eat chicken (unless is comes from a chinese food restaurant or is dipped in honey mustard dressing from Quiznos), french fries (not the fast food crap) but good homemade fries, pasta of any kind, or peanut butter and jelly.  I am about ready to give up....

Another sign that proves the pregnancy hormones are out of wack....I made homemade soup today.  Not a cold soup, but a hot soup, yes hot soup on the hottest day of the year.  Want to to know why I made it?  Cuz it's all I could think about eating and now I feel so full I can barely move.

PS: the smoke is screwing with the satellite and now I can't watch So you think you can dance.  It looks like there is fog at the house.

Food for thought?

Anyone have any idea how to get a toddler to eat more than cheese, tomatoes, fruit, & cereal bars?

What's on the menu tonight

 It's been awhile since I've blogged about our meal plans.  Just haven't been motivated to cooked anything new.  With summer coming and the garden already producing, I am finding that motivation again.

Taste Test

For some reason these days my mom is letting me eat big kid food. Not sure why? They don't spend a lot of money on that jarred stuff do they? I mean to pay for something that tastes like that is crazy!!!

Today I ate Potato and Meek, I mean Leek, soup. What is a leek??? Sounds like something I am told my dad will teach me how to do soon.  

So I liked it. Can't you tell?

Yesterday I had Chicken teriyaki rice bowl, except it wasn't in a bowl cuz I apparently I am not allowed to have a bowl. I heard mom telling dad something about me throwing things when I eat. What exactly is rice and why does it stick to my arms?
