Fall!

I can't believe Fall is finally here!  It was a crisp 59 degrees in the house this morning so we turned on the heater.  :-)

I had big plans tonight to capture on the camera this "super harvest moon"  Well true to the our style we were late by like 10 minutes and I missed the giant moon.  I guess I will have to wait 20 more years for the full moon to be on the equinox.  Oh well!  I at least got some great shots of the moon and the courthouse!

Spring morning

Shortly after the sun rose this morning and the rain went away, snuck out side to capture a few shots.

Look what's popping up!

A few weeks back I mentioned that Mike was making planter boxes to go inbetween the deck and the sidewalk and driveway. Well the first two boxes have been filled with dirt and we planted some bulbs we have had for months now and forgot about. Luckily it has been super cold and the bulbs actually started sprouting up in the bag. So we put them in the boxes figuring it was worth a shot. Well 1 week later (this was last weekend) we have the first of the bunch popping up!

This was taken this weekend. Amazing how quickly they grow!

Fall - gone in a flash

This is the view out our bedroom door. I love waking up on stormy mornings in the fall. The colors are so bright and everything seems to stand out. The bummer part is that it is also 30 outside which means that fall came and went so fast! Time to get ready for winter. Let's hope we get some snow this year!

Snow Day

It started snowing at about 10 am yesterday morning.  It snowed all day long.  It was so much fun!  Most of the time the snow falls at night and you wake up to a winter wonderland but not yesterday.  We got to enjoy it all.  Here are a few random snow day pics.....

Wouldn't you think that if the GIANT sign 4 miles back said All traffic being turned around 4 miles ahead people would actually comprehend that???  Apparently not.  The scene when I got home from work.  Living in the area you learn shortcuts to avoid such problems.  The idiots are the ones who can't read or don't think the sign applies to them.  Enjoy your 2 plus hour wait suckers!  That is 3 lanes of traffic backed up and attempting to merge into one lane and exit.

A crisp Fall morning

I love, love, love the day after the first rain storm of the season.  Everything is clean.  It smells clean, looks clean, and even the dirt has had a shower.  The crisp coolness to the air makes me look forward to the wood stove heating up the house, warm meals, cuddling under a blanket watching movies and listening to the rain.  It's even better when a thunder and lightening storm passes by.  I am looking forward to getting out on our deck during a passing storm and seeing Cole get excited about the loud booms!

The next few weeks will take us in to fall in the mid 80's.  I can't complain because that is pretty much perfect fall weather.  A few months from now we will be wishing for some snow!

Cole's not so sure about his winter coat

Leo's back!
Onyx used to bring her toys to him so they could play.

Onyx got a little bit more than she expected when she eskimo kissed Dulce.

I can't decided between color or Mocha.
