A possessed snowman, some disobeying, and a lot of dancing

Sorry this is so long, but he was dancing (or doing a little "jig" as we call it) so much and at such random times I felt the need to let everyone see what he does in a matter of 5 minutes. You have no idea how happy we are that the snowman has officially died! You have to listen with the volume up to hear him. All weekend long we heard (besides Cole's fake cry) "HoHoHo Merry Christmas. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call his names, they never let poor Rudolf join in any reindeer games" Now it is "dying" and sounds possessed. I think I like the possessed Frosty better.

Just Chillin'

Things I did in my new chair:
1. Chill while drinkin' some milk
2. Use it as a ladder to get to the top of the giant black thing blocking my access to the fire
3. Launch my sippy cup off the edge and play soccer with it
4. Scream as loudly as I can at anything that goes by me
5. Hit a cat if they go near it

I like it, can't you tell

Not buying it

I would like to introduce everyone to Cole's fake cry.
He did this all day long. I'm not joking.
I am hoping it is due to the cold we both have and not early onset of the terrible two's.
Please let it be the cold!

Is this what we have to look forward to?

One of the best parts of this video was left out of this one, but on our local news this morning they showed a little bit longer version.

The police officer was telling the kid "Do you know that your grandma has to pay for all the damage you caused?" The kid replied "Can my mom help pay?"

How is this child being raised????

The Prank

Today I played the best prank on mom and dad.  It was called "Let's see how long it takes them to find my sippy cup".

Three attempts and 30 minutes later, they found it!
Next time I must be sneakier.

Get off my toy, doggie!

She always has to get on my stuff!

The Sigh

So this video really only has meaning to Mike and I but it is too cute not to share.
When Cole was born and up until about 6 months old he would sigh after sneezing.  Well the odds of catching a sneeze on video are slim to none so when he stopped doing it I was pretty sad.  So today I was filming him eat and what do ya know....He sneezed and sighed after the last one.  I think I melted inside.  So happy to have finally caught that on tape!

What was I doing ten years ago?
1998 - I had just moved to Chico.  Other than that I don't really care to remember that time in my life.  On to the next question.

What was I doing five years ago?
I was in my third semester at Chico state, wondering why I had chosen a major that had so many speeches when I was scared to death to talk in front of crowds.  Mike and I had been dating for 9 months and we were both walking on clouds. I was living on a "ranch" (when I was at home) with a ton of horses, ponies, donkeys, chickens, dogs, and cats.  Spending the weekends drinking Sierra Nevada (however remaining a light weight) at The Bear, The Graduate, or if Mike could drag me in to Normal St. (way to crowded for me) and of course 80's night at La Salles.  Going for long bike rides through town to Bidwell Park.

What was I doing one year ago?
I was 7 weeks out of recovery from a c-section (thank you Cole for being butt first!) and getting ready to go back to work part time.  Walking every day at the park with Nicole and Dylan working those extra baby pounds off!  Wishing that I took advantage of those days when I could sleep in and have an uninterrupted night of sleep.  Hoping that "baby brain" was temporary and I would be getting my memory back soon.  Still hasn't happened.

What was I doing yesterday?
Working and wondering why I didn't learn the first time I mixed Claritin-D and Midol together and hoping that the feeling of drinking way too much caffeine would wear off.  Going to Curves to exercise.  Chasing Cole around the house until almost 10pm.  Side note - no more afternoon naps that start after 4:30pm!

Things that I enjoy
Cole's laugh, traveling, photography, my home, life in general

Five TV shows that I watch
The Office, Greek, The Soup, Scrubs, The Bachelor, Notes from the Underbelly, Carpoolers, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, My Name is Earl, Good Day Sacramento

Five things that I hate
Milk, snakes, worms, people who are not accountable for the own actions, liars

Five biggest joys in my life
Cole, Mike, Onyx, Minkie, Bebe, My family and friends

Lesson 2

Sticks are just small pieces of a tree, but they hold a very special place in dog-human history, as many believe they were the first objects thrown to canines by man,  However, they aren't designed to travel very far.  Mostly, they are good for playing fetch.  Just be cautious.  There are some sticklike objects that move and might even bite you.  Remember this rule: If it tries to bite you, it is not a stick.  It is a snake.  Do not grab a snake. - The Dangerous Book for Dogs

Kissing Dogs

As some of you may know I have been getting in trouble for kissing dogs.
But what am I supposed to do when they kiss me?
I can't be rude and walk away.  They wont like me if I do that.

Lesson 1

The greatest thing about your tail is that it is always there, ready for a good time. Even when you are in trouble for licking the meatloaf and no one will play with you, your tail is up for being chased.  It sits behind you, wagging, just asking you to go after it.  If you are a breed that has a short tail, no tail, or you had a tail and then lost it, this is obviously a challenge.  In this case, you can substitute "rump" for "tail", even though it doesn't quite wag the same.  The question then is whether you can catch it or not.  The answer is that it doesn't matter.  In this case, the thrill is in the chase.  And the chase is awesome. - The Dangerous Book for Dogs

Life has changed...

Property Laws of a toddler

1. If I like it, it's MINE.
2. If it's in my hand, it's MINE.
3. If I can take it from you, it's MINE.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's MINE.
5. If it's MINE, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I'm doing or building something, all of the pieces are MINE.
7. If it looks like MINE, it's MINE.
8. If I saw it first, it's MINE.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes MINE.
10. If it is broken, it's YOURS.

Taste Test

For some reason these days my mom is letting me eat big kid food. Not sure why? They don't spend a lot of money on that jarred stuff do they? I mean to pay for something that tastes like that is crazy!!!

Today I ate Potato and Meek, I mean Leek, soup. What is a leek??? Sounds like something I am told my dad will teach me how to do soon.

So I liked it. Can't you tell?

Yesterday I had Chicken teriyaki rice bowl, except it wasn't in a bowl cuz I apparently I am not allowed to have a bowl. I heard mom telling dad something about me throwing things when I eat. What exactly is rice and why does it stick to my arms?

Furball of the century

So the cute little black lab that used to be our one and only child until Cole came along proved to us today why she is still our precious furball.  We were sitting on the couch watching tv when all of a sudden a black flash shot past the window.  I jumped up to see who she was going after, assuming it was another deer.  As I make my way back to our room, I hear Mike cracking up.  I yell "what is it?"  he yells back "She's chasing a butterfly!", as she shoots past the window again.

I love that dog.

Cat Attack

I got in trouble today.
I pulled the cat's hair out.

Just monkeying around

While dad was outside all day,  mom and I played with funny glasses.
I made her wear the broken pineapples.  Monkeys suit me better.

Mini Mike

Who spiked the bottle?

This weekend Cole began doing a little "jig" when he got excited or frustrated.  We attempted to catch it on tape.  First two attempts look like he is drunk.  The third was an excited "jig".  Enjoy!

Things that made me HAPPY today

1. Stealing the Elmo car from Taylor. Even though I don't like the car.

2. Finding one of Dylan's binkys.

3. Digging in the dirt.

4. Catching bugs with Joseph's bug catcher. I waited for 5 minutes before taking it from him. He brought it for me, right?

5. Climbing on everything : chairs, high-chairs, stairs, elmo car...

6. Finding my favorite kind of bottle.

7. Eating crayons, especially the purple one

Things that made me UNHAPPY today

1. My picture being taken.

2. Nap time

3. Anyone trying to feed me anything with a spoon

4. Being told no

5. Mom blocking the stairs from me

6. Going to bed

7. Being put in time out

8. Getting crayons and rocks pulled out of my mouth

The ultimate headache

Anyone care to guess the decibels that came out of that mouth?
I think we could have a side business in the production of dog whistles.

Tolerance

Let me tell you about my doggie and me...

She is my chair,

my access to the back of the couch,

& my pillow.

Best of all, she lets me pick her nose.
