The doings of Siena and other stuff

I can't not say enough about how amazing today was.  70 degrees, sunny, not a breeze in the air, just perfect!  I am loving our little January spring.

This week at work marks the first 3" sewing needle I have seen being removed from a dogs stomach.  Yeah, it creeped me out too.  And yes the puppy swallowed it.  Ahh!!!!!

Siena spits in each hand, rubs them together and then brushes her hair back with her spit hands.  Gross!

She will not leave my glasses alone.

This is Siena's grumpy face.

Her happy face.

Siena does exercises too.

Jumping jacks

Leg kicks

Crunches

Show me your muscles

Someone's been working out!

I have been dying over this costume.  Cole of course loves it and the built in muscles are a crack up!

Hoop-a-loop

Cole and Alix hula hooped for awhile during her visit.  Cole loved it and they looked so cute together!

The jumperoo!

Siena has made it in to the jumperoo! We put Cole in at 14 weeks but he was a little bit bigger than Siena at this point. She faired pretty well for being a pint size munchkin. I think she really enjoyed it.
Trying to figure out what the heck this thing is that keeps making elephant noises every time I move.
She still has a little ways to go before getting into jumping position. We realized shortly after that we could lower it one more level. She still can't touch the floor. Cole was sharing his trail mix with the floor.

And of course Cole had to be involved once he discovered what the 3 of us were up to.

Poor Siena. She never gets a break. He moved to the floor after this to give her feet kisses.

I could be wrong, but I think she kind of likes this new toy...
Just look at those marshmellow arms. Don't you just wanna squeeze her!
I love this kid!

8 weeks ago today

I had Siena 8 weeks ago!  I can't believe she has already hit the 2 month mark.  Her official 2 month birthday wont be until Sunday but I still wanted to acknowledge today.  I am feeling great for being 8 weeks out of a major surgery.  I am back to exercising which feels great!  I am doing well on my quest to lose 30 pounds.  As of last week I was down 16.  This past weekend I was able to button up a pair of my pre pregnancy pants.  Now when I say button, it doesn't not imply that I would wear them out in public.  That's a whole other issue.

New milestones for Siena this week are being able to go from a lying down position to sitting up while holding my hands and me pulling her up.  She is able to keep her head balanced!  She has grown accustomed to sleeping next to me so I am working to get her back in the crib.  She is having some congested / gurgling issues when lying on her back so I have to talk with the pediatrician about that.  I am hoping she does not have acid reflux like Cole did.

She has really chunked up over the past week.  She still seems so small to people but she seems huge to me.  She has little rolls on her thighs!  Too cute.  She is also staying awake for longer periods of time these days.

Recuperating

Oh man am I sore.  My friend Nicole and I hiked Hidden Falls yesterday.  3 1/2 miles of mostly uphill (ok so it felt like that) for the 1 1/2 hour hike.  We packed moose and small fry on our backs and took off at 8:30 am.  I'd post a photo of us but we were so exhausted that stopping to take a picture really wasn't on top of the list at the moment.  I could barely get out of bed this morning and I exercise 4-5 days a week!

What an accomplishment!

Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day to me!  My day started bright and early with Cole getting up at 4:30 am!  He just wanted to spend time with me right?  Well he didn't get to because dad got up and I slept till 7 am!  Sleeping in feels so good!  Haha to all of you with no kids that think 7 am is the butt crack of dawn.  You'll learn.

Cole handing me my card.  He had to bend it in half and taste it first.

We went for a hike in Auburn to an area called Hidden Falls.  It was so beautiful.  Unfortunately we did not realize it was not very stroller friendly, so next time we will take the back pack.  Onyx was beside her self with all the new smells.

Cole was barely awake when we got there at 8:30 am.
Next time he should try sleeping in...
