The best big brother

Today was an amazing day with the kids.  We have finally decided that tv on school mornings does not work well with our kids.  The turn in to zombies and things get crazy real fast.  So this morning while I was in the shower, Cole got Siena dressed for school.  Socks included.  He also took the step ladder in the bedroom and got down a princess dress for her (Belle).  They then played with Siena's new Disney Princess dolls for the next 30 minutes with out a single fight.  It was so wonderful to see.  Cole looked up and me and said "Mom, Siena told me I was her best friend".  A little while later I whispered to him that he was an amazing big brother his response was to whisper back to me "thank you".  Ahhhh I wished we could have stayed home to enjoy this!

It's love

I love watching them walk and hold hands.  It's a rare day for Siena to let Cole hold her hand so when he can he is all over it.

Pete & Repete

Siena has officially become a little copy cat.  She repetes everything Cole says with the same enthuasiam that he has.  It's actually quite funny to watch.  If he is flying around the deck screaming like a dinosaur, you can be sure that she isn't too far behind.  :-)

Random happenings

This kids have been having a blast playing together lately.  The get along so well and really seem to enjoy each others company.  I know that they wont always be on the best terms but hopefully they will be able to resolve their problems quickly.  She just adores Cole.

Siena thinks that we can't see her trying to open all the presents.  I have to admit for an almost 2 year old she did pretty darn good.  She only open a few.

The Fredy's got a little smarter

Well we finally jumped on the bandwagon!  For christmas my parents got each of us a Droid X!  Now of course we are Apple lover through and through but I was already on verizon and they had a special for the holidays that if you add a smartphone to your family plan package they wave the $9.99 a month fee!  So for the next two years it's only the unlimited data plan that has to be paid for!   So freaking sweet!   Mike who hasn't had a phone in like 6 months (it's lost somewhere in the house) isn't gonna know what to do with himself!!

Now some cute photos of the kids.....

The cutest surprise

They spent the last 2 hours not going to sleep. They trashed their room, they screamed at us, and then finally they fell asleep.

I actually think Cole fell asleep first and then Siena must have snuck in next to him.

Dr. Check up

Today we had Cole's 3 year (at 3 1/2) check up and Siena's 18 month check up (at almost 19 months).  It was quite the experience.  The kids started out well with getting their weight's and heights.  Cole is 40 3/4 inches (87%)  tall and 35 pounds (63%).  Siena is 21# 8oz (9%) and 31 1/2 inches (36%) tall.  Both kids physically looked great.  Their development is right on track, they are looking awesome.  The doc got to witness Siena's persistent whining and screaming until she gets picked up and could only tell us that with time it should get better (thanks).

Here's where is turned to hell.  Both kids needed vaccines.  Cole needed a booster, iron check (finger prick) and a TB test.  Siena needed to vaccines.  We decided to have Cole go first.  Holy shit!  He has always been so good so this was quite the shock.  The nurse did the TB test first and had to poke him twice because he bent his arm trying to hit her.  We distracted him enough to get the finger poke.  The vaccines was the last straw for him.  He tried kicking her in the face.  This entire time he was on my lap with me restraining him.  Siena was just watching with a very curious look on her face.

Up next was Siena.  Cole would not get off my lap so we were going to put Siena on the other side of me.  Well Cole knew what was up and he had no intention of letting the nurse any where near Siena.  We had to lie her on the table to get her away from Cole.  He was trying to get the vaccines, block the nurse and kept yelling "Stop!  You might make her cry"  It was heart breaking to watch them be so traumatized but at the same time it almost made me cry to see what lengths Cole go to, to protect his little sister.  Cole was VERY mad at Erin (the nurse).  I think she felt horrible too.

The kids quieted down afterwards and we were late to Cole's gymnastics class but at least he got to run off his sadness with Dylan.

I have to take Cole back on Monday to have his TB test looked at.  We'll see how that goes over.

Switching roles

Mike and I walked on to the deck to find this -

They both had a blast! It is so fun to see them playing together. I am not sure whose idea this was but I do think Cole can convince Siena to push him around.

Cole adores Siena

A year ago he was biting her and to see it transform in to this is wonderful. I am so glad they can be in the same room together now! I think Cole is even getting a little bit excited to have her share a room with him. He may think differently when she actually moves in but for now he gets a kick out of it.

Cole loves to walk her around the deck. He is gentle for the most part. Some times he walks to fast and she falls but he just picks her up. When we drop charts off at work he helps me by walking her to the clinic from the car.

Occasionally a hug ends in a tackle.

Side by side

It amazes me how much Siena has grown yet she still seems so small compared to Cole.

She loves him

She always crawls or walks to him when he is laying down and lays on him.

Raspberries

Besides crawling after Siena, Cole's other favorite activity is pinning Siena down and blowing raspberries on her belly. And it isn't just one raspberry, it's like 20 raspberries.

They miss each other

Every other tuesday night, Cole goes to my parents house for a sleep over. He has a blast going and it's kind of sad how quickly he wants to leave us. But I am very thankful he has all of his grandparents so close by. How many kids can say they see at least one grandparent almost every day. For both Mike and I we were not that lucky.

Well now that Siena has gotten older and Cole has matured (a bit) it is really sweet to see the two of them greet each other the next morning. Cole walks into the house very shy like, gives me a hug and then searches out his sister. When he finds her he says "hiiiiiii siena" and gives her the biggest bear hugs to the point of knocking her over and she loves it. Every bit of it. This past tuesday I laid them next to each other on the couch and Siena started giving Cole kisses. So sweet!

I missed the kissing and ended up with pictures that looked like Siena hated it. Don't you just love Cole's expression in the last photo???

Cole comforting Siena

Yesterday Cole was the best big brother to Siena. Siena isn't to fond of car rides especially at night when she can't see anything. When I got the kids home from day care yesterday I opened up the back door to find this! So sweet!!!

Then while we were driving down the to mall last night Cole sang to Siena to calm her down. It actually works which is super cute! Mike taught Cole "goodnight sweetheart" except it was "good night Siena". You can hear which part of the song Cole remembered. The video is in the car from last night with Cole singing.

He loves her, he really does....

But some times Siena gets a little fed up.
