Fast Cat or a Trick Cat

This morning Cole came in to our bedroom and got in between us in bed.  Minkie (the cat that is OBSESSED with Mike) was of course sleeping in between us too.  We laid there few more minutes and I noticed Cole was laying on the cat.  I asked him not to squish her and he said "she will run from me"  The rest of the conversation went like this:

A:  Cole did you know that the cats have lived with me longer than I have known your daddy?

C:  How did you get them?

A:  I bought them

C:  oh wow!  that must have been hard.

A:  No not really

C:  Why did you buy fast cats?  Why didn't you buy trick cats?

A:  Trick cats?

C:  Yes trick cats! They can open drawers, climb poles, jump in boxes, jump from tree branch to tree branch like squirrels.  You bought fast cats.  I can't catch them and they always run away from me.

Bacon

Siena has a love affair with bacon.  She would eat pounds of it if we let her.  Tonight she took a late nap and she was awake for about 30 minutes with out saying much. The first thing she said was "I need bacon"  hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then she got grumpy because there was pepper on the bacon.  She looked at me and said "I don't like this stuff, I felt it on my tongue"  So we had to wash it all of for her.  Such a drama queen.

Coleisms

While watching Hillbilly Handfishing on Animal Planet.

C: Mom, what are they doing?

A: Hand fishing

C: They are supposed to use fishing poles! Mom, when I am 20 plus 1 years older I am gonna catch fish like this (slaps hands together)



In the car this morning:

C:  Mom where do zombies come from?

A: You have to be bit by a zombie to become a zombie

C:  Do zombies come from Africa?

A:  No

C:  Oh.  I want to kill a zombie so I can eat him.

A:  I don't think a zombie is going to taste very good.

C: why?

A: Because he is already dead and rotting and he probably has maggots.

C:  Would salt help?

A:  probably not.

C:  How about sugar?

Bargaining

Both kids have gotten very good at bargaining.  Here is an example from each one of them today:

Scene - I was telling the kids they needed to help clean up

Me: Cole can you please put the ipod down and help me clean.

Cole:  Mom, can you set the timer for 25 hours and when it goes off I will help clean.


Scene - In the kids bedroom and Siena is awake

Me:  Good night Siena

Siena: My snuggle you in the office?

Me:  No

Siena:  My snuggle you on the couch?

Me:  No Siena you sleep in your bed.

Siena : No Mommy!

A few other little phrases of hers I don't want to forget are:

poo pew (poo poo)

Eee goo (drinkable yogurt)

Siena starts Gymnastics

Tomorrow Siena starts gymnastics.  For the past month I have been talking to Cole about it and asking him if he was ok with Siena being in gymnastics and not him since he had soccer.  He said over and over how he wanted to keep doing gymnastics.  Well tonight I asked him again if he was excited to go back to gymnastics (he has been out for two months) and he said to me....

"mommy, I am almost 5 years and and almost in kindergarden.  I want to be done with it (gymnastics)"

Well ok then.  So sorry to bother you with some thing to LOVED two months ago.

Being sick has its advantages

Seriously though, being sick sucks. And as you know we have all been sick since Christmas. Well this time around for me, 1 week after my sinus and double ear infection, I get a mild case of the flu. Nauseated all day long. At first I thought it was from taking my antibiotics on an empty stomach but when it continued on I figured that it wasn't. Well I was on my own with the kids and it was nap time so after getting Siena down I convinced Cole to take a nap with me. I let him have the ipod and told him he could play as many games as he wanted. He tried to ask me for help and I told him I had just thrown up and I could not help. He then says to me "Oh, I'm sorry mommy, I will take care of you" and he snuggled up next to me and went to sleep (for 5 hours). Later last night, I was still in bed and he comes in with a tissue and tells me it is my paper pillow to sleep on and slides it under my head and then lays next to me and touches my face. He is the best little boy ever!!! Certainly knows how to not make me feel horrible when in fact I do. Now I am in so much back pain from lying down from 1pm until 6:30am that I have to figure out what to do. I could lay in bed another day but at least the nausea is getting better. I really would like to finish editing this wedding I have had on the books. Snow headed our way again! Woo Hoo!!! Possibly like 12 inches! And pretty low snow so look out all you flat landers!

Nemo and other stuff

It doesn't stop.  It's all she asks about.  This evening Siena is walking around calling for Nemo and Cole says that he wants to watch Cars.  Well Siena is getting ready to freak out that Nemo isn't on so Cole tries to convince Siena that she really wants to watch Cars.  "Siena don't you want to watch Cars.  They do races and go super fast"

Earlier Cole asked me if he could play the ipod.  I told him no that he can only play it if Siena is sleeping.  It was 10 am so it was no where close to Siena's nap time.  Cole walks up to her and says "Siena, I think that you want to go to sleep right now.  I will take you to your room so you can sleep."


Mike - "Cole would you like some avocados from Mexico?" (in your best singing voice) Cole - "Daddy those avocados are NOT from Mexcio. They are from Trader Joe's".


Siena got this toy from Uncle Eddie for Christmas.  It's rare to catch her spinning on it but she loves to use it as a chair.

Scene - making pesto.  Cole is tearing basil leaves off of the stem while eating every other leaf.
Cole suddenly stops.

Cole - Mommy I can't do it any more it's too hard.

Me - it's too hard to tear leaves off of the stem?

Cole  - Yes, I can't read the instructions.

I need that

Siena said her first 3 word sentence today!

I was taking crayons away from her because she likes to eat them , along with markers, and she says to me "I need that!"

Too funny and yet I am scared to death for her teenage years.

Can some one let us know where the letter "g" went in Cole's vocabulary?  In a matter of hours he went from speaking pretty good English to totally dropping the letter "g" off of all words.

10-10-10 - the day of sentences

Today Siena said 3 two word sentences!!

"mama wahwah"  (mom water)
"hi toots"  (not toot like a fart but toots like tootsie roll)
"byebye dada"

So cute!


Siena calls all dogs "ahknee" (Oni or Onyx).  She understands EVERYTHING you ask her to do.  It's actually pretty funny just to test her to see how much she really understands.

Ummm

Siena has started using "ummm" when you ask her a questions.  While looking at a book on the potty I asked her where the apple was and she says "ummmm" and then points to it!  Too cute.

Speaking of potty, this morning was the third in a row that she has pooped on the potty!!!!

And now that Cole has been properly trained to make a pot of coffee, it's Siena's turn to learn!

Siena is at that stage where she says "hi" and "bye" to everything.  People, planes, helicopters, birds, etc....

Aligator meat

"This motorcycle guy is feeding Siena alligator meat."  Here he is collecting the alligator meat.  Then while she was eating he kept pretending to feed it to her.

Deep thoughts by Cole Fredy

"My house is bugging me.  We need a bigger taller house so I can look at the trees."

Holding up a pair of swimming goggles "Are these Lady Gaga glasses?"

"Turn it up mommy! (the radio) My legs are dancing!" Said in the car as he is kicking my seat.

"Mommy you need to come outside and hear the owl.  It is sitting in the tree saying woo woo woo, like this mommy, woo woo woo."

Spiderman needs his sleep

Cole's imagination is killing me these days.  He is such a crack up!  He has an imaginary town on our deck and he goes to different places in his car to buy things.  The various locations on the deck include - Trader Joes, Chinese food, In and Out, a cupcake shop, and home.  He gets in his car and drives to each location and puts stuff in his paper bag in the car and when he is done shopping he drives everything back home.

He is spideman a lot of the times.  He will tell you "Spiderman does this or that....."

"Mommy Spiderman needs to sleep.  You need to be quiet and not talk louder.  Otherwise Spiderman wakes up and gets out of his house like this and yells "Mommy you can't not talk, I am sleeping"  Like that mommy so you need to be quiet."

Deep Thoughts by Cole Fredy

Every day when the sun sets Cole tells us that the sun is going to his home.  In the mornings, one of the first things he says is "The sun is back!"  as if it was there just for him so he could play outside.  A few weeks ago when the weather was still pretty weird, it was raining and cloudy and Cole came up to me and said "Mommy where is the sun?"  It's behind the clouds.  When it rains the sun is hidden away.  "Oh" said Cole  "We need to get a rope.  Maybe the imagination movers have a rope."  Why do we need a rope, Cole.  "To pull the sun down, mommy."

I guess letting him watch the Imagination Movers in the mornings is having a positive affect on his problem solving and creativity. 

"Bee's have dinner in their bodies. The ants eat the dinner so the bee's not can't sting us" Cole's view of ants crawling on a dead bumble bee.

While examining the bug bites on his arm "Mommy, the no-ski-toes (mosquitos) had dinner on my arm.  They eat me like this (makes num num noise while pinching at his arm)."
