70 degrees in February

I am amazed at the WONDERFUL weather we are having this week. For the middle of February it is absolutely perfect! I am sure a month from now we will have a snow storm. ha! The kids are having a blast playing on the deck.

Siena loves any toys she can get in her mouth. This mallet was an ok toy until a few minutes ago when Cole clocked her in the forehead with it. Now he is in a very long time out (I am assuming he will just fall asleep) and Siena is developing a nice little egg on the side of her face. Ok, now back to how things were before the injury.

This deck has been a total life saver for me. I could not have asked for a better "gift". The kids love to play on it and Cole has a flat, safe place to ride his tricycle. He rides laps for hours.

Siena is usually not to far behind Cole in the walker. We put up extra deck boards around the center square so they can't accidentally fall in the center.

And of course no day is complete with out some sort of involvement of an alligator. The alligators are always being fed something. Today it was "flowers" (grass).

One of Siena's favorite games is playing chase. She loves to be chased in the walker. The alligator chasing her is a new thing.

But as you can tell they are both totally loving the chase!

Cole was on look out for "camels" he then told me that the camels were chasing cats.

After awhile we went next door to see grandma and grandpa. Cole had been over there all morning and wanted to go back.

"Why you taking pictures of me, mommy?"

Onyx so desperately wants some one to throw the stick for her. Cole usually ends up taking it and hiding it in the bushes or the cages that are kept around some of the bushes so the deer don't eat them.

Another favorite game of Siena's is to give a toy to you and then wait for you to give it back. She could play that game for hours. She waits to reach back for it until she hears you say "thank you" when she hands it to you.

She also got to go on horsey rides with grandpa.

Cole spent the morning planting flowers with grandma.

Lots of stair climbing was done as well

And finally. Can you guess what this is??????

It's the 8 foot tall rosh bush that was taken from our yard and planted in it's new home. It's been pruned quite a bit.

Great post Aimee - fantastic pics of the kids.
Can I ask why you have the grass area in the middle of the deck? Design or a practical purpose ... .
Thanks for sharing.

E - the deck is 2000 sqft (double the size of our house) we felt we needed to break up the deck a bit. So we decided to do a 20 ft x 20 ft square cut out in the center that would have grass. We haven't gotten around to putting the grass in yet. What you see is leftover grass from before the deck was there. Because we live on 2 acres there is a lot of wild life and with wild life comes poop. I wanted a poop free grass zone and with the deck being fenced in no animals can get in there and Onyx poops down by the bad neighbors property line like a good dog should. :-)

so i have to comment here, cause one i now know what to put Siena in while playing on the deck, two, since my dog has been there, it is not poop free grass anymore, sorry! I will do my best to not have her poop in there again, but I picked it up! I am thinking too that Cole will just tear the grass up, I tried to get him to "replant" it, but he lost interest pretty quickly!
