Learning to drink from a cup

I'm a little peeved that Siena is still drinking from a bottle. She's small so it doesn't look weird but I think she is way too old to have it. Cole was done with the bottle a month and a half before this age. But every time I give her a sippy cup she takes 1 sip and throws the cup. Straw cups are not any better.

She has recently become interested in regular cups, but as well all know, even 3 year olds don't get cups with out lids.

We are also still working on her learning to use a spoon the correct way.

Aimee, It's like diapers, when she's ready. she will give it up.

haha, that is hilarious! Good thing you have that nice deck, it is a perfect place for her to learn these important life skills and then you can just hose her off!

Haha! Love the pictures, especially the last one. Maddie looks like that frequently. My doc says that they encourage kids to be done with the bottle by 18 months, so she still has plenty of time to learn to drink from the sippy or regular cup!

I think it is just our Ped. She wanted me to wean her off at 10 months!

10 months??? it's typically 12 months, right? but i dont' see anything wrong with her doing it on her own pace...i think that main thing is to brush her teeth before bed!

the cup that helped my boys quite a bit was this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Nuby-Spill-Colors-Vary-Ounce/dp/B0019LLC9W/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1274209469&sr=8-6
the simply soft spout from Nuby- very similar to the bottles...we did these from 12-15 months and which point they understood how to do the straws...

no worries, though...

Her Ped said 10 months, the one we saw yesterday (hers in on maternity leave) said 18 months. And those are the sippy cups I bought her her and she throws them at me. :-)
