33 Months

Mike and I can pretty much understand anything Cole says now. Others still have a hard time with certain words but he is getting a very big vocabulary and surprises us every day with his new words and sentences. I am amazed at how easily children learn languages and I am excited to get him into a spanish class so he can become bilingual. Cole can count to 10 when he wants to and his abc's consist of "A, B, C, D, E"

A recent conversation with Cole went something like this:

C - Is this for my butt? (Holding up the diaper rash cream)
Me - No, you don't have diaper rash
C- Is this for Siena's butt?
Me - Yes, she has diaper rash
C- Oh....Is this for my butt?
Me - no, you do not have diaper rash
C- Dong gone it.

He has been using the "dong gone it" (dog gone it) phrase for a few days now and it is a total crack up. He even uses it in the correct context!

Cole is 32 1/2 pounds and 38 1/4 inches tall. He spends his days avoiding food. For some reason he could care less about eating right now. He is still waking up in the middle of the night, usually scared, so we are not quite sure if he is having night terrors.

Yesterday and today he has wanted to wear big boy underware. We hadn't planned on potty training until our christmas vacation but Cole initiated it so we are going for it. Today he had only one accident and it was first thing this morning. So proud of him! I even took him in to town to my work and no accidents and he went over to Dylans' house and had no accidents either!!! What a big boy!!!!

Cole still takes naps during the day. They are not all lasting 3 hours but he gets in at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day. He doesn't usually go to bed until 9:30 so a nap is very important for him since on some days he is up at 5 am ( like today).

Cole has really began to adjust to the big brother roll very well. He has stopped tormenting Siena so much and likes to give her more hugs and kisses than kick and bites. Cole still has MAJOR tantrums and some days they go one all.day.long. Those days are very hard on all of us.

I get so excited for each day because I love to see him grow and develop into a little gentleman.
