The couch

Every time we visit our friends Jen and Ryan, Cole some how convinces them to let him run amuck on they giant L shaped couch. He is in heaven and gets pretty pissed when we have to leave.

Siena was content to chew on Sid and climb under their console table.

Thanks again for a great time guys!!!

Loving the clouds

Every morning on my way to work I kick my self for one - being late and two - not bringing my camera. Off to my left is the canyon and the fog and or clouds line the craters inside. It is amazingly beautiful. The clouds were awesome once the storm cleared out. The first photo is is in a housing development near the canyon in Auburn.

These were on my front deck.

Do you think she is enjoying her self? (let's see how long it takes for photo bucket to delete this picture. you will know it happened if a smily face suddenly appears on her rear.)

All Done!

This is Siena's way of telling us she no longer wants to eat.

Siena discovers the pretty blue lights

It was only a matter of time before she could reach. She uses those cute little toes to give her that extra lift she needs.

Cole of course had to step in to regulate. He doesn't appreciate his move being interrupted.... 12 times.

Raspberries

Besides crawling after Siena, Cole's other favorite activity is pinning Siena down and blowing raspberries on her belly. And it isn't just one raspberry, it's like 20 raspberries.

When we are bored...

we let the toddler feed the baby. It's always good for a few laughs

They miss each other

Every other tuesday night, Cole goes to my parents house for a sleep over. He has a blast going and it's kind of sad how quickly he wants to leave us. But I am very thankful he has all of his grandparents so close by. How many kids can say they see at least one grandparent almost every day. For both Mike and I we were not that lucky.

Well now that Siena has gotten older and Cole has matured (a bit) it is really sweet to see the two of them greet each other the next morning. Cole walks into the house very shy like, gives me a hug and then searches out his sister. When he finds her he says "hiiiiiii siena" and gives her the biggest bear hugs to the point of knocking her over and she loves it. Every bit of it. This past tuesday I laid them next to each other on the couch and Siena started giving Cole kisses. So sweet!

I missed the kissing and ended up with pictures that looked like Siena hated it. Don't you just love Cole's expression in the last photo???

Flintstone Feet

Oh this pose make's me want to run in to her room and wake her up from her nap and squeeze her. She is so squeezably squishy.

Help I've fallen and I can't get up

Every time she falls she lands like this and doesn't move until you get to her and pick her up.

kisssing dogs

Siena has officially discovered Onyx and all the fun things that come with a dog. Her most favorite thing to do is try to give Onyx kisses. Onyx has not problem with this.

This last photo cracks me up. Siena has her tongue out and is ready to go and Onyx is trying so hard not to lick her. It just cracks me up!

I eat in my sleep

Nothing keeps Cole from In n Out french fries. Not even sleep.

Hello Friends!

Hello to all 60 of you. Ha! I actually like knowing that there are only 60 of you and that you aren't creeps. :-) So with that being said, thank you to all of you for wanting to coming along with the Fredy's as I continue this blog away from the eyes of the public. It's been a busy week and I have a ton of things to post I am just trying to find the time to finish getting the photos together.

The future of the Fredy Family Blog

I've been debating with this for awhile but I think it is time that I make our family blog private.  As you know I post a lot of information on here but I would like to be able to post more since I do make this blog into a book each year.  There are things I find myself having to sensor, like locations, a lot of home stuff, etc... and I would prefer to not have to.  And of course the most important part of this is for our kids.  They are getting older and there are some things that the entire internet world doesn't need to see.  :-)  Also did you know you can get turned into CPS for taking a picture of your kid in the bath tub even if nothing is showing????

So with that being said if you would like to continue reading our family blog please leave me a comment with your email address and or you can send me an email at

aimeefredy@hotmail.com.

Don't worry it isn't that complicated either.  There are just a few easy steps if you don't have a google account.  Once you give me your email I will enter you into the list and if you are not registered then they will send you an invitation on how to set one up.  You do not have to set up a blog to do this.   Remember to use the email you gave me when you set up the account or it wont grant you access.

I have found the easiest way for me to view my friends private blogs is to check the box that says "remember me" or "keep me logged in" and then you don't have to log in every time you want to view our blog.  Just add my blog address to your favorites bar or bookmark it and you are set!

The only bummer part to the blog being private is that if you have me on your blog roll it will no longer show the current post.  But as you know I pretty much post every day.  That isn't going to change.

I will leave this post up until next Sunday and then the blog goes private.  I will continue to write daily posts but I will not post them until the blog becomes private.

I do appreciate all the blogging friends I have made and I look forward to all of you coming along with me on this "private" journey.  :-)  And if you have been reading for awhile and want to continue but I don't know you leave a comment saying hi or shoot me an email.

Thanks for all your understanding!

Soy Allergy

So now that I have a better understanding of what may be going on with Siena, I can finally put together a post about the past week or so. So you may remember about 2 weeks ago Siena's visit to the doc for acid reflux and a possible dairy allergy. Well after being on the Zantac for a week I switched her to the hypo allergenic formula (super expensive and smells horrible). So after 5 days of being on this formula I decided to add in 2 oz of soy formula to her bottle and see if I could get her on soy formula with the hopes of not having to pay for the super expensive formula. With in about 6 hours of giving her the soy she broke out in a huge firey red rash on her behind. She has had this rash many times before but we have never connected it to any thing other than possibly it being the really acidic poop since the rash only occurs when poop is stuck to her for more than 10 minutes or so.

After seeing that reaction it occurred to me that this may not be a dairy allergy at all but possibly a soy allergy. The one time we switched her to soy as an experiment to help with gassiness, the gas got worse so we switched back to dairy. Again, we never connected the rashes with the soy or dairy. After this accidental discovery I looked at the can of dairy formula and found out that it contains SOY! Infact I could not find one brand of formula that did not contain soy. Even the hypo allergenic formula has soy in it. After freaking out over that I found out yesterday that the soy in this particular formula is so broken down that it is impossible to be allergic to it. (yay!) By the way, we are still paying for the soy experiment. She is not sleeping at night and acts like she is super uncomfortable. However since being on the hypoallergenic formula she is no longer a farting machine for 5am to 7am every morning.

So for now we have to assume (due to the rash which started bleeding tuesday night and her improvement with her poops) that she is allergic to soy. Until proven otherwise we must not allow Siena to have soy. You'd think that may be easy but you are wrong. Below is a collective list of things I found for people with soy allergies.

Avoid foods that contain any of the following ingredients:

miso
shoyu sauce
soy (flour, grits, nuts, milk, tofu soy bean sprouts)
soybean (granules, curd)
soy sauce
Edamame
Kinako
Kouridofu
Mono-diglyceride
Natto
Nimame
Okara
Soya, soja, soybean, soyabeans
Soy protein (isolate/concentrate), vegetable protein
Tempeh
Textured soy flour (TSF), textured soy protein (TSP), textured vegetable protein (TVP)
Tofu (soybean curds)
Yuba

Ingredients that MAY indicate the presence of soy protein:
flavorings
hydrolyzed plant protein
hydrolyzed soy protein
hydrolyzed vegetable protein
natural flavoring
vegetable broth
vegetable gum
vegetable starch
Hydrolyzed plant protein (HPP), hydrolyzed soy protein (HSP), hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP)
Lecithin
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) (may contain hydrolyzed protein)

Studies show that most soy allergic individuals may safely eat products containing soy lecithin and soy oil.

Soy is present is the following:

Baby formulas
Baked goods and baking mixes, e.g., breads, cookies, cake mixes, doughnuts, pancakes
Bean sprouts
Beverage mixes, e.g., hot chocolate, lemonade
Bread crumbs, cereals, crackers
Breaded foods, chili, pastas, stews, taco filling, tamales
Canned tuna/minced hams
Chewing gum
Cooking spray, margarine, vegetable shortening, vegetable oil
Diet drinks, imitation milk
Dressings, gravies, marinades
Frozen desserts

Processed and prepared meats, e.g., beef, deli, pork, poultry
Sauces, e.g., soy, shoyu, tamari, teriyaki, Worcestershire
Seafood-based products, fish
Seasoning, spices
Simulated fish and meat products, e.g., surimi (imitation crab/lobster meat), simulated bacon bits
Snack foods, e.g., candy, chocolate, energy bars, fudge, popcorn, potato chips
Soups, broths, soup mixes/stock
Spreads, dips, mayonnaise, peanut butter
Thickening agents
Vegetarian dishes

Cosmetics, soaps
Craft materials
Glycerine
Milk substitutes for young animals
Pet food
Vitamins

I've decided that Siena (not by choice) will have a very healthy, mostly raw diet which in turn will keep her physique fit and trim. :-) Most children out grow soy allergies by age two, but not all. Soy is one of the rarer allergies. Also babies allergic to soy commonly are allergic to dairy.

Friday

Woke up to a little surprise this morning! Not nearly as much as a month ago but it's still snow. It has been snowing on and off since then but not sticking to the ground.

Snowy mornings call for snowman pj's

This is Siena doing one of her favorite activites - making loud noises with her hand and mouth.

Her other favorite activity is eating random things she finds on the ground. This particular time it was a pine needle, but others today have been legos, bark, carpet, and dog hair.

This week has been the first time in that Cole and Siena are actually playing together. The on-it's-side table has been a big hit as well as Cole chasing Siena while she crawls.
