Not feeling the sunshine

There's no rule that says I have to enjoy swinging at the park!
Just not feeling it today.

One of those days

It is just one of those days. you know when nothing goes as you would hope. Cole wont nap. I dropped the frosting for Cole's cupcakes on the ground and sprinkles on top broke open and sprayed all over the kitchen. I went to get my new favorite toy (A dirt devil broom vac) and it died half way through the clean up because it was not charged so I got up as much as I could and now Cole is eating random sprinkles he finds on the ground.

Why do children have eagle eye vision?

*update - I cleaned out the fridge so I could put new groceries in and I forgot the trash can was out of the cabinet. Cole knocked it over trying to get into the cabinet and so I now had vegetable stir fry, teriyaki chicken, parmesan orzo, and salsa on my floor. In my attempt to clean it up, Cole came out of the cabinet and kneeled down in it.

I am so looking forward to bed time...

The making of the birthday invitation

After a little bit of attitude,

a jig,

a march,

playing the air guitar,

falling down,

and even doing the Captain Morgan,

we got the perfect one

Farmer Cole

The aftermath of the night before....
Notice the extra forehead bruises.
poor guy can't catch a break.

The first bloody noses and fat lips

Boys will be boys

The banned outfit...minutes before the fall

Hard to Believe

A year ago this week I had begun to get nervous that I only had 4 more weeks to go until our baby was to arrive. We still had no clue if it was a boy or girl but were getting excited. Little did I know that 1 week later my water would break and we would be meeting our son. Cole was kind enough to me to be breach so I could have a c-section (thank god!).

Here a quick glance at a year ago....

My belly at 36 weeks

Cole Thomas (3d ultrasound)

One way out

Mom bought me a tunnel like Macintosh's! Now I have my own!!!

Onyx almost went though but she got kind of scared. Maybe next time when mom isn't there with the camera.

This is what I looked like after mom took me to that weird store to buy my tunnel.
At that store my tunnel was called "Speja" What does that mean?????
Mom also got me this night light for my wall. The bug (this one is called "smila bagge") goes on the wall to make it look like it is crawling up it.

No explanation needed

Caught up!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally caught up on all the pictures that go with the posts. They start with "Conquering Mt. Couch" which is from February 14.

Enjoy!

You know you want to come over and help

I was so politely informed by Mike that he is gonna sit on his butt and be useless to me for the next month after this is all done.

What's on the menu tonight?

Saturday
Zinfandal Beef Kabobs (Longhorn) Lemon Pepper BBQ Zucchini
Orgnaic Homemade Red Potato Salad (red potato, celery, dill pickle, hard boiled egg, red onion, light mayo, dijon mustard, salt and pepper)

Friday

Fresh Alaskan Salmon (Longhorn) Broiled with Olive Oil and Lemon Pepper
Steamed Organic Broccoli
White Jasmine Rice

Cole is not eating much solids as he is on his second day with a temp at 102. Poor litte guy.

***Longhorn is the local Auburn Butcher Shop that is located with in walking distance from my work. All their meat is natural hormone & antibiotic free. They have a ton of choices of marinades and meat. They even sell rattlesnake and Kangaroo, seriously. If you have a local butcher shop near you, support them. It is some of the best meat I have ever had. We don't buy meat elsewhere unless we need something they don't sell.

The lemon pepper I love to use is from Trader Joes and it is their Lemon Pepper Grinder. You can find it by the salt and pepper.

But you set up this stair case just for me, right?

You may wonder how I got here. Well let me show you exactly how I did it.

(By the way, I thought this was made especially for me, but that was not what my mom said when she walked out of the other room and found me here).

First I found the lowest part of the stack because at 30" tall I can't reach the next one up quite yet.

Then I used my newly found arm muscles to pull my self up to the next platform.

Show off my butt for good measure and I am on to the top

Jackpot!
Oh yeah, dad would not let me post these pictures unless I disclosed the fact that he was supervising this trip up the boxes.

In case you were wondering how I got down from here I will fill you in. I chose the quickest method which was not to back down the stair but rather to go head first over the couch and on to the cushion. I then spun around and got off the couch and made my way back to the stair. I did this about 10 times and then my mom stuck me in my crib and told me it was bed time.

Do I have mad skills or what??????

What's been on the menu this last week

BBQ Garlic Chicken (probably a whole bulb of garlic went into this marinade) From Longhorn
Whole Wheat Couscous
BBQ Lemom Pepper Zucchini

Mandarin Orange Chicken from Trader Joes

Pita Pizza

Grilled Cheese with Turkey and Avacado

Anything easy while the house is a mess!

Still no connection to the web world

So our new "master bedroom" was completed last night!!!! I spent the whole day painting Cole's new jungle room and will be doing more today. Tonight the new floors go into his new room and then we can move his old room to the new one and then set up my office!

Pictures to be up soon. I have blogs waiting for pictures from last week.

Soon enough....

Weekend Adventures with Onyx

my dad made a noise that really scared me so my mom took me outside to play with Onyx.
At first I was not too happy to be in my stroller. I wanted to run around!

But then Onyx started to show me new skills which made me happy!

She showed me how to carry sticks

Fetch pine cones

How to chase and catch ones tail.
(i also learned that if you tell my doggie to "get your tail" she will spin in circles barking)

and of course how to bark at mom, my doggie is crazy

She got so exhausted that she decided to take a nap. Can you see her next to me?

I decided it was time for a serious pose for my mom since I am not a huge fan of the camera.

I thought my mom could use 1 picture of me smiling

Then she had to get all creative on me and stick a PURPLE FLOWER between my toes.
Can you believe that?!?!?!? I was being so cooperative and she took advantage of the situation.
Mom boys don't like flowers!!!

Until next time.....

Happy Valentines Day!

What do you mean I am supposed to give a girl a valentine????

P.S. I am trying to make myself as red as my shirt and beanie

Conquering Mt. Couch

I have finally made it to the top of the couch!
And I did it all by myself.
No help from mom, dad or the dog.

I am not a cat

My mom took me to work and put me on a scale for cats. Does she think I don't know it is for cats???

Mom, this is a cat!

Anyways I am now 22 1/2 pounds.

I am smashing that triple your birth weight by 1 year mombo jumbo. I am going for a record!

Let's see if I can make it increase by 5 times.

Honey Do

This past weekend I asked Mike if we could install the hardwood floors in the office-soon-to-be-master (if you can call an 11.5 x 10 a master). He willingly accepted my proposal. So this went from putting in hardwood to removing the horrid panneling off the walls, building a new closet surround, taking down and replacing the ceiling (I decided that I could not look at ceiling tile while sleeping), texture and paint the new walls, mouldings abd baseboards and then installing hardwood. So because of my ambiciuos nature I thought this would all be done Sunday (we started Friday night) and of course we still have 2 days to go before the hardwood goes in.

So my office is now a construction zone, my dining room is now my non-functioning office, my living room is a storage zone for hardwood floors, my dining room table is in the kitchen.

Cole thinks we made this maze just for him.

A long explaination as to why I have no internet. We had to cut the line to get it out of the floor. :-(

Pictures will be up this weekend. Lots of fun adventures to be shared....

We have also been eating a lot of Trader Joes quick meals since I can't get my oven door open with out moving a huge table. So until this weekend, no cooking.

The disappearing act

Cole loves his diaper pail, probably more than a child should.
He is fascinated with the "disappearing" diapers
Where do they go?

Here you go diaper pail, have some clothes

Still there

How far do I need to push them down?

Ok dog, help me out here. She drops it in and it disappears.
Why is it still there when I do it?

What? We're busy.

Disclaimer

It has been brought to my attention by my loving husband that my "What's on the menu tonight?" section in my blog is a little bit weird. Why would you write about that?, he asks me. So I am defending myself with a little explanation.

I LOVE TO EAT! I eat all the time. I love to cook. I can BBQ an entire meal from appetizer to dessert. I am proud of that! I love talking about food and cooking. I love finding new things that are now made organic. I love Trader Joes. I am always interested in hearing about what other people cook. So this is my way of sharing some thing that I enjoy doing.

So to those of you that actually read this and enjoy my meals, thanks for your support. For those of you that think like my loving and adoring husband, keep your mouth shut and enjoy your meal. It may not be there tomorrow. I might decide to go on strike :-)

Precious Moments

Soon, times like these will become a thing of the past. I have to treasure every sleeping moment, even if he is attempting to moon us.
