Our trip to Oregon - Day 1

Andrea and Lennis decided to have their wedding reception in Neskowin, Oregon.  We wanted to attened but the only way we were going to get there was either by car (14 hour car ride with no stops!) or by plane (1 1/2 hour fight).  Either one had their downsides but in the end we chose airplane.  We flew out of Sacramento and in to Portland.

This was the first plane ride for both of the kids!

A view of Mt. Hood from the airplane.  If you ever fly up north from California, sit on the right side of the plane AMAZING views the entire way up!

Luckily we had my parents with us or I think we would have gone crazy!  Cole was great on the plane, with one of his favorite things to play with being the barf bag.

Siena was mostly good but towards to end she got cranky and tired very fast.  She fell asleep on Mike just before the plane landed and snoozed for about 20 minutes.  She woke up just as we got to the car rental area.

We got the best rental car for the weekend!!  A brand new Volkswagon Jetta.  Silver.  Cole called it the beach car.  It was so nice!  We had a blast driving it from Portland to the coast and back.

The Northwest is beautiful all the time but to drive around during the middle of fall is just amazing.  The tree lined streets were vibrant and full of color.  We were so lucky that our first day was bright, sunny and just a slight chill in the air.

We followed my parents from Portland to Salem and then over to the coast.  The drive was simply amazing.  So beautiful.  Fall colors, barns, color every where.   I can not wait until we can do a road trip and the kids will actually enjoy being in the car and enjoy the surroundings.  :-)

^ Just outside of Salem.

^ Almost to the coast!

^ most of these photos are taken inside the car.  What I would give for a tree lined driveway with those colors.

Once we got settled into our rental house (trailer) we headed over to visit with Andrea, Lennis and a few of their friends who were here for the weekend as well.

Funny story about this "house".  We seriously thought we were getting a little house in the beach town of Neskowin.  Not a trailer in a trailer park that was a short drive from the town.  Don't get me wrong, this 1970's trailer was in great condition but's still a trailer.  But we can't complain for $100 a night to sleep 6 people!

The view from the deck

The view towards the little costal town on Neskowin.  No internet access at all unless you have 3G.  I was so lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Patrick and Melanie (you can view their wedding on my photography page) brought these donuts from Portland!  Breakfast time in the morning!!!!
