The woodstove, smoke and plastic

I was so looking forward to the first fire of the season.  Just cold enough to warrent warming the house up with the wood stove.  So we got the fire going and then we noticed them smell.  The smell of burning plastic.  Then we remembered that the kids had shoved a lego piece in to a very strategic spot and when Mike tried to get it, it slipped and fell behind the wood stove.  So when the house stared to fill with smoke we were a little bit annoyed.  We opened up the windows, got a fan and tried blowing the smoke out.  Needless to say, our "warm" house was now very cold.  We figured that eventually it would burn out.

So today I decided since it was quite a bit warmer I would start a fire and leave the windows open and try to burn out the rest of the plastic.  I get down to start the fire and glance under the top of the wood stove and I notice a shadow, a shadow of a car..... No wonder the house was smoking. Hot wheels are not meant to be cooked!
