A weekend of fire

On Saturday we took Cole and Siena up to the Placer Hills Fire Station in Weimar.  A friend works there and he told us to bring the kids up so they could check out the fire trucks.  We were so excited for Cole.  We just thought he was going to LOVE this.  We got there and Cole did a total 180 on us.  He clung to Mike, was practically in tears and refused to even get in the firetruck.   Siena on the other hand wouldn't stay out of the firetruck and kept running over to the firemen and grabbing their fingers and dragging them places and making them open up doors for her.  It was pretty funny because none of them have kids of their own yet and to see them trying to entertain a 17 month old little girl with a lot of determination was pretty funny.  Eventually Cole got in the truck but only with Mike being in there with him.  We left on somewhat good terms with Cole telling us on the drive home that he had a little bit of fun.

But then all night long Cole was on the deck with his fire hat on driving around in his "fire truck"  putting out fires and taking care of "mergencies" (emergencies).  "Daddy I need your help with this mergency.  Do you see any other mergencie's that need help?"

Yesterday we took the kids up to visit Uncle Lennis at work.  This summer he is working at the helicopter station out of Ice House.  It is the Big Hill Lookout station.  We got to go up and show Cole the helicopter.  Once again though, Siena was enjoying it way more than Cole.  Cole would only go in the back of the helicopter if Mike was with him.  Siena once again let anyone carry her around and she loved the cockpit.  Probably her favorite thing all day, except for getting soaked in the lake.  I think over all Cole did enjoy it, he is just for some reason getting really weird about situations we wouldn't expect him to react over.

I am making more of an effort to be in photos.  I don't want the next 10 years to seem like mom wasn't around!  I am just finding creative ways of getting my self in there!

Siena loving every minute of the helicopter

She was very upset with us that she had to get out of it!

Auntie Andrea!!!!

The view of Union Lake Reservoir from the look out.

Remind me next time not to do a self portrait with the fish eye.

Playing in the water at Union Lake Reservoir.

Siena ended up soaking wet from playing with Andrea and the dogs.
