Let it snow!

It is a beautiful day in Applegate.  It started snowing this morning and hasn't stopped since.  As beautiful as it may be, living in Applegate has it's down side.....CHAIN CONTROL FOR HWY 80 EAST.  This means the freeway gets shut down and Applegate goes from a town of 300 to a thriving metropolis.

I knew the day would come when Cole would make it past pulling out 1 bowl and the measuring cups out of the cabinet.  But did I expect him to clean out all the cabinets????  No!

He even attempted crawling completely inside this one.

And the trail continues on down the hallway.  Notice Bebe holding her ground behind the gate.  She does not want to end up like the dog.

But of course Onyx is a willing participant in the whole destruction.

PS: those boxes are full of our hardwood floors!!!!

Finding time and energy to remodel with an infant / toddler is quite the experience.

What's on the menu tonight?

Organic mixed greens with organic cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese and White Balsamic dressing

Chicken marinated in lemon juice and garlic, then breaded with whole wheat flour, cayenne pepper, chili powder, onion powder, and salt.  Pan fried in olive oil. Served on top of Organic Quinoa.

For the little one:

Adventures in walking

When Cole was born and in the many months that have passed, I thought for sure Cole was gonna be one of those late bloomers.  It took him forever to roll over and his first tooth broke through on friday, although you can't see it yet but you sure can feel it.  Anyways I know all kids have their own pace to go by but why all of a sudden did he decided to walk / run????  He is 10 1/2 months old now.  His first steps were at 9 1/2 months.  He just seemed content to hang out at 3 steps and various unassisted standing sessions.  But as of Friday he is running!!!!  It cracks us up, especially when he collides with Onyx.  He falls down, stiff body and all, laughing his head off!

gotta get my running shoes on now!!!!

A look into the past....
