Yosemite 2011

We made our annual family trip to Yosemite yesterday.  I know it's weird to say we went for the day but that's exactly what we did!  I was second shooting a wedding with my friend Brooke and Mike and the kids came along too.  We originally had plans to stay for 3 days but a huge fire started just out side of El Portal so we could not get to Russell and Lex's house.  They of course were on evacuation watch so they could not come into the valley to see us either.  This photo I took from the look out on HWY 120 just before the decent into the valley.  I didn't get too many fun landscape photos like last year because the place was packed with people and I was there for such a short period of time.  Mike and the kids had a blast running around the park, visiting with our friend Barry and just enjoyed being there.  The winds were blowing the opposite direction so the smoke was very minimal.

Pete & Repete

Siena has officially become a little copy cat.  She repetes everything Cole says with the same enthuasiam that he has.  It's actually quite funny to watch.  If he is flying around the deck screaming like a dinosaur, you can be sure that she isn't too far behind.  :-)

First day of school again

Cole begins his second year of the two year Pre K today.  As usual he had a blast.  He is so not the shy kid so he just jumps on in and barley says good bye.  Of course Siena wants to be in there as well but she is still just a bit to young.  She will be starting one day a week in January.

These next 2 photos were taken with a tilt shift lens I rented for the yosemite wedding this coming weekend.  I loved this lens although it takes some getting used to for sure!  It's a totally manual focus lens which is not always easy to use.
