Coles 4th Birthday Party
Cole had requested at Siena's birthday party that he wanted a T-Rex birthday cake. After searching for a t-rex cake pan (found on Amazon) I made red velvet cake (blood from the people the t-rex eats as we found out) and I proceeded to to spend all morning decorating the darn thing. Buttercream melts when warm and so my hands kept melting the buttercream in the bag and I kept having to put the cake in the fridge because all the little stars were drooping. (see last years Legoman cake)
Mike slaved away on a t-rex watermelon. Super cute. Next time it would be easier with a larger watermelon but it's not the season for those.
Siena loves helicopters and firetrucks and not dolls.
Dylan
Grandma Terri and her tick (hehe) Megan the dog. She never leaves my moms side.
Grandpa Glenn, Mike, and Aunt Cathy
Grandpa Dale
Laney and Siena
Miles, Cole and Onyx. Cole calls Miles "Mild" and Miles calls Cole "Cool" haha!
This is a funny photo. I love Cole's expression but if you look to the right of the picture you can see Granda Glenn and Siena and the toy story t-rex. That was the beginning of a very scared Siena. She runs from the t-rex, wont touch it, and yells "NO!" if you bring it near her.

Happy 4th Birthday Cole!
I seriously can not believe that this little guy is 4 years old. He is the sweetest little man. He LOVES to give me kisses and hugs and pretty much requests them all the time. He adores his little sister. They play pretty well together although some times he gets pretty annoyed with her but mostly he enjoys her company. He is 42 inches tall and still holding strong at 35 pounds. He still loves hummus, mini pizzas, cereal bars, fruit, bread with butter, milk, chocolate milk, and pretzels with cream cheese. He LOVES to talk about dinosaurs and he will watch any show that involves them, he looks at any book that has them and he plays with the dinosaurs all the time.
Lack of sleep
It's been about 2 weeks now since Siena decided that she was not going to go down for a nap or bed time with out throwing a huge fit and by fit I mean screaming "Mommy" or "daddy" or just crying for HOURS in her crib standing up.
Last night was the final straw. She fell asleep on my lap on the couch (both kids did). We got her to bed which was a miracle of it's own because she would normally wake up and start screaming as well. Well at midnight last night Siena woke up. For about 10 minutes I laid there hoping she would go back to sleep. Didn't happen. So I went in and checked her diaper, changed it because it was kind of wet, and told her it was still bed time and good night. Well that back fired on me. Siena was up until 3:30 screaming at us. Mike went in there once and sat next to the crib and held her hand and she fell asleep for 20 minutes and then was up again screaming at us. Cole came in to our room at 1am because as he said "mommy siena is screaming and I can't sleep". Finally at 3:30 we gave up and Mike brought her in bed with us and she was silent.
We are both at our wits end with her and her lack of sleeping.
I have to make Cole's cake tonight for his party tomorrow.
Red food coloring galore. I don't like red velvet cake mix. Yuck! But Cole wanted a cake that looked like blood.
It's going to take forever to frost this thing.

Cole's Birthday Celebration at Pre School
Today Cole celebrated his birthday at school. I chose to make hamburger cupcakes for the kids because what kid wont love them, right? I made them the night before and Siena could not keep her hands off of them! She was trying to be sneaky. Here she is cooling them down.
The kids in Cole's class made him the crown.

Pure Luck
The check engine light came on in my car. Not exactly what I wanted to see considering that the extended warranty we had purchased on the car ended at 70,000 miles. So I took the Xterra in to Applegate Garage (the best place ever) and had them run the diagnostic test on it to see what was going on. Turns out it is the catalytic converter. Something that costs over $1000 to fix. What I love about our mechanic is that instead of telling me this and paying to fix it, he called down to Future Nissan in Roseville to check to see if it was still under warranty. Turns out it was, if the car was under 80,000 miles. My car was at 79,607. Holy crap. That was close. I am still in disbelief over the whole thing. It also turns out that my car was needed in for a recall as well on a knuckle joint in the steering column. So I pick up my car tomorrow and we are just so grateful that it wasn't the $1000 coming out of our pocket. We have way more important things to buy......
Like the iPad 2. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Can not wait until March 11. However you wont see me lined up at 5am waiting in line. I prefer to shop from the comfort of my own home.
